the shower hot and cold water mixer is bad design, big challenge in getting warm and correct water pressure for shower.

Free breakfast, incredible location to the Gondola station. Based close to the centre of Queenstown, a 5 minute walk to downtown and restaurants, the lake and supermarket, the eating/shopping district and had a restaurant really good. Had king room with good storage for clothes and a view over downtown Queenstown. With an electric kettle and a refrigerator.

We ordered breakfast one morning and my waffles were sickly sweet, but my husband devoured them anyway, so at least someone enjoyed it. The staff were friendly and even helped us with local recommendations for our time.
It wasn't exactly budget-friendly but still manageable.

I got upgared to another room which was a 1 bedroom suite. Lovely room.
The internet charges are too steep. I wasn't on fline for very long but due to high data was charged $70 for about 2 hours of usage. I wasn't happy. At the counter at breakfast the Asian lady was very difficult to understand. All English speaking guests who arrived in the reataurant after me seemed to have the same problem understanding her.

I liked the hotel fire and lounge area. This was a lovely area that could be opened up with more lounges. Also liked the products that are complimentary (shampoo and conditioners, soap). Lovely.
That room service made up one bed, and not the other, and that the shower area of the bathroom spat water everywhere (shower curtains are not a good thing and quite outdated) and drenched everything every time.
